In that building, we will be training older orphan girls to produce the dolls, the
manuals, the soaps and candles and even posters with survival skills and life skills
information. We have already created a big brother/big sister program through
Manuel to help the street children who sometimes need an adult to go with them to
the dr. or school etc. We will be receiving and organizing local donations to orphans
of great need as well.
This center will assist that program. With the money we make from the sale of the
dolls, we will support the center and create a small loan association for the orphans.
Also, I will be working with local businesses, artisans, and NGO’s to set up a
mentoring education program for orphans with limited school education. The center
will house all those lovely books you have donated on “how to do” and create things.
We will invite all community groups to come to work with us and learn from the
books, which will finally be in a public library location, to create their own income
generating activities for their communities, and their orphans.
Also, there is a big classroom in front we can use for continued Survival Skills Training
courses – like first aid and how to pasteurize water etc. It even came complete with
the machines to make cloth, the school desks, and office desks and bookcases. We
have an offer from the Swiss Labor organization to help us finance some computers
for our “resource center” room and library for the communities to use.
So, right now we have an idea . . . a vision . . . . A very clear vision once again.
